A commission on National Education consisting of experts from different fields of education was appointed in December 1958 to transfer Secondary Education from the control of University to the BISE Peshawar to give special attention to this level of education. To improve education throughout the province, Peshawar Board was established in 1961. At that time, the area of BISEP comprised the whole Khyber Pakhtunkhwa and its tribal areas. The exams mostly start in the month of March and end in April while BISE Peshawar results are announced in the month of July and August. BISEP results of matriculation classes are usually announced in the month of July every year. Peshawar board results for intermediate classes are announced in the start of September or last of August every year.
