Agriculture education was
introduced into the curriculum of Islamia
College,Peshawar in 1933. The College
of Agriculture was set up in 1957 as
a constituent college of the University
of Peshawar. The four year B.Sc. degree
programme after matriculation,followed
prior to the establishment of the College
of Agriculture,was discontinued. A revised
curriculum was started in 1957,in which
students with matriculation were admitted
to a five years degree programme leading
to the award of B.Sc. Hons. classes
were started in different disciplines,
i.e Agricultural Chemistry,Agronomy,Animal
Science,Entomology,Horticulture and
food technology
The college was upgraded to a status of Faculty of Agriculture under the University of Peshawar in 1974.
