Board of Intermediate and Secondary Education Karachi - BISE Karachi Board

The Board of Intermediate Education Karachi has the power to organize, regulate, develop and control Intermediate Education. Its mission is to provide enlightened education and examination services to the nation. The future of a nation depends mainly on its educational system. Education sets the path for development and helps to achieve the desired goals. Therefore, Board of Secondary Education Karachi is striving hard to take measures/steps to improve the quality of education in the country. Provide smooth conduct of matriculation examination since 1951. Provide research oriented work for researchers and healthy environment for the promotion of curricular and co-curricular activities in the country. Arrange workshops and seminars for teachers for proper paper setting techniques. Arrange workshops and seminars for teachers to improve quality of assessment of scripts. Provide scholarship program for students to promote healthy education.

The Board of Intermediate Education Karachi is not only an examining body but is also responsible for maintaining and controlling the standard of education and other activities, which certify physical, moral and spiritual development of the college students.

History:

Board of Intermediate Education Karachi was established as separate entity in 1974 through the Sindh Boards of Intermediate and Secondary Education amendment act No. 20 of 1973.

The controlling Authority of the Board is the Governor of Sindh or his nominee. The Chairman is the principal executive and academic officer of the Board, while the Secretary is the in charge of the academic and administrative Sector and the Controller of Examinations is the In-charge of the Examination Section. The mentioned officers and the Audit officer are appointed by the Controlling Authority of the Board, while other officers are also appointed by the Board on the recommendation of the appointment Committee. In the year, 1974, there were only 17 officers and 113 officials, now we have 51 officers and 246 officials. To perform various functions systematically there are Statutory and non-Statutory committees have been constituted.

Jurisdiction:

At present time, BIKE Karachi conducts inter examinations for Karachi Cantt., Clifton Cantt., and Manora Cantt of Civil District of Karachi. Likewise BISE also conducts Matric examinations for these areas. The Board has the power to organize, regulate, develop and control Intermediate Education within its jurisdiction.

Admissions:

The interested candidates who want to appear in the matric and intermediate examination can register themselves before the one or two months for the matric examination and two to three months before the inter examination every year. Karachi board offers admissions for matric level one or two months before matric examination every year while inter admissions opens up two or three months before inter examinations every year.

Date Sheets:

BISE Karachi announces date sheets for matric and intermediate exams a month before the exams commencement. BISE Karachi conducts its matric examination in March and Inter exams in April while declaration of matric and inter results are usually made in July, August and September respectively. Results:
